Inexpensive microscopes that are made of paper

In our impression, microscopes are scientific instruments with a high degree of precision. However, an engineer from Stanford University in the U.S. named Manu Prakash invented a type of one-off Foldscope made of paper. The whole assembling process for Foldscope is less than 10 minutes and it can magnify the item almost 2000 times although its own weight is only less than 10 grams, which is very light and convenient. Manu Prakash hoped to tackle the issue of cross infection in medical equipment through the invention of disposable foldscope. At the same time, he also wished that the invention can be used in education, inspiring children to become scientists.
